Sally Openshaw is a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist, Trainer and Supervisor. She developed and manages Towerhouse Counselling and provides counselling services to individuals, couples and two local organizations for their staff team members. Her specialist areas are counselling people with sexual and relationships problems, working with people with sexual addiction and working with people who have experienced trauma using EMDR.
Sally developed her passion for counselling as an oncology nurse alongside individuals struggling with the impact cancer had on their sexuality and relationships. She completed an MSc in Human Sexuality in 1991, which led to her Chairing the professional body called the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapy (COSRT). She has advised government working parties on policy and standards of practice. Sally has a commitment to sound ethical practice and sits on complaint panels to review the conduct of other therapists. Sally was awarded a Fellowship from COSRT in 2009 in recognition of the contribution she had made to Sexual and Relationship Therapy in the UK.
John Raymont is a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor who has worked as a volunteer counsellor at two local agencies for five years counselling clients with mental health illnesses and clients facing a bereavement. John previously worked as a lithographic printer for over 30 years and for 8 years as a voluntary pastoral visitor for a local church, which led to John starting his counselling training. John completed the Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling at Towerhouse in December 2012.
In June 2013 John started working at Towerhouse as the office manager, helping Sally Openshaw with all the various administrative tasks involved in training students to be qualified counsellors.
From January 2019 John is starting in private practice and is offering counselling for loss and grief and anxiety and depression and has room availability in both Barnstaple and Bideford to see clients.
